I can trace my love of Tiki right back to my childhood with an early facination for cocktails, far before I could legally drink. I remember the joy of collecting flamingo swizzle sticks and paper umbrellas from a bar on a family holiday and then the treat of actually being allowed my first Shirley Temple. From that moment on I was in love with the paraphernalia of fancy drinks and from that it was only a small step to embracing all things Tiki. As a jobbing illustrator I'm always keen to subtly crowbar a reference to the Tiki Lounge lifestyle whenever I can. Whether I'm designing a level for a console game, illustrating for an inappropriate magazine or creating a lovely T shirt, chances are I'll slip in, often subconsciencly, some small offering to our benevolent Tiki Gods.
